Marc whisked Laura away on a trip to Paris a few years ago and used the occasion to propose to Laura on the rooftop of their hotel - Alfred Sommier Hotel in Paris. They enjoyed their stay so much they thought it would make the ideal venue for their wedding.
Fast forward a couple of years, and the weekend had arrived. With their closest friends and family, the celebrations began on Friday night. A chic welcome evening with champagne cocktails, and a DJ spinning chilled tunes in the gardens of the hotel. As the sun set, Laura, Marc, and I escaped onto the rooftop for a few photos from where Marc originally proposed.
The following morning I joined the couple back at the hotel where they were getting ready for the day ahead. Waiting outside was our ride for the day. A beautiful Porsche 911 from the 1980s.
The wedding ceremony took place in the Saint Augustin church. Built between 1860 and 1871 in an eclectic style combining Tuscan Gothic, Romanesque and Byzantine elements. The church is very large: one hundred meters long and eighty meters high to the lantern of the dome.
Directly after the ceremony, we jumped (squeezed our way) into the beautiful Porsche, taking a quick ride through the city to Palais-Royal for a few portraits of the newlyweds.
We sped back to the hotel to join the guests for an afternoon of cocktails and more great tunes. An extremely original (and delicious) strawberry wedding cake was also awaiting our arrival. I stole the couple away for a few more portraits around the hotel. As the sun went down, a delicious French dinner with wine was served in the gardens.
The party really got started with Laura & Marc’s opening dance in the gardens lit by candlelight. Soon after, the party moved inside and Laura changed into her party dress to dance the night away!
