Bright Lights, Big City - A nighttime photoshoot in Paris

If you’re considering ending your photoshoot after the sun goes down and seeing why Paris is often referred to as ‘the city of lights’, this post may offer a little inspiration for your own shoot.

Héloïse is a dress designer and together, with her boyfriend, Kenzo she wanted to organise a photoshoot in Paris where she could model one of her designs, a stunning evening gown in glittering champagne. We collaborated together, created a moldboard, and decided to finish the photoshoot once the sun went down and Paris really does turn into - ‘the city of lights’, perfect for showing off the glittering gown in its natural habitat - the glamour that is Paris at night!

We kicked things off at one of my favourite locations, the Louvre about one hour before sunset. The gown matched perfectly with both the majestic architecture as well as the pastel colour palette. To mix things up a little we wandered into the nearby Jardin des Tuileries. The Louvre is always one of my go-to locations as it offers such diverse photo opportunities within a short walking distance. As the sun began to go down we moved on towards Place De La Concorde, here, we began using the flash and the photoshoot took on a more fashion/editorial feel with Héloïse perfectly modeling her stunning gown.

Of course, this been Paris we had to finish things off with the Eiffel Tower visible in some shots, so we wrapped things up on Pont Alexandre, showcasing the beautiful lamps of the bridge along with the most famous monument of Paris making an appearance in the background.

Night photos in Paris take on a whole different feel and are a great way to add even more variation to your photoshoot.
